HTC vive warranty

So I'm buying an HTC Vive from some guy on Craigslist for $500. The package is completely sealed. The product is brand new. I'm a little concerned about the warranty though, would I be able to activate a warranty if it were to malfunction?

I'm resonably confindent in the Vive it is sealed. My only question would i be able to activate the warranty if i were to buy it.

You wouldnt know, the box I recieved did not come sealed from HTC, so there is no proof this is new and unused.
