HTPC OS What should I Choose?

What OS should I use for a HTPC?

I am installing it to one of my old computers:
pentium 4
1 GB ram
80 GB HDD (With second drive 40 GB)
32bit

I have got the option between windows xp , 7 and lunix
any help would be appreicated

With only 1GB of RAM installed, I'd probably lean towards a linux installation. Probably something like Mythbuntu.

Thanks I'll give Mythbuntu a go what software can i use on it?
could i use xbmc or something like that?

Mythbuntu is a version of Ubuntu geared towards MythTV (a media center program). There shouldn't be any need to run any other software on it.
