hyper x cloud 2 not working

Hi, I've recently been using my hyper x cloud 2 headphones with my pc and just had them plugged into a regular headphone port as I had no need for the mic and the wire is a little too long unless I'm gaming. Anyway's I went to plug them into a usb port but soon found out that there was no sound. I have an asus p8z77-v lx, I've tried every single usb port but have had no luck in getting them to work, has anyone else had a similar issue or knows how I could fix this please?

Hi plugging the headphones and mic in separately won't work as the mic needs to be connected to the volume controller which is a usb connection

control panel>sound>set default playback and recording to 'hyperx 7.1 audio'

Dudes, you need to start thinking before you post BS.
If the HyperX Headset isnt identified (which is EXACTLY what is happening when USB fails) you cannot go to device manager or sound manager and choose it, as the system didnt get the ID response from the USB device. D'oh.

Calling others n00bs while not even getting the problem ... got a few choice words for that.
So unless someone has been able to extract the USB drivers from the dongle, don't bother posting suggestions or "help".
