Hyper x cloud stinger not working

Hi so i bought a hyper x cloud stinger and the audio is great however the microphone is not working. I've returned it once and was given a refund, i then purchased it again and got another hyper x cloud stinger and i still am getting the same problem. When i check the microphone i see the audio levels or bars not going up at all im kinda confused this point as to why my microphone is not working. I use windows 10 i've had usb headset before and they work fine just not sure as to what caused this problem.

Test it with another system, make sure you have any drivers needed installed from the vendor, make sure your default audio devices are set to the headset.
I bought my son the same headset and it's working fine under Win 10.
