I'm planning on buying a HyperX Cloud and was wondering if I should get the Cloud 1 or Cloud 2. The price difference of these two headsets are only $10 in my country so I'm leaning more on Cloud 2 for the improved mic alone as I'll be using it everyday.

Comparing these two, I've got the following impressions based on reviews and searching:

Performance
Audio: Same
Mic: v2 has better echo and noise cancellation
Extra: v2 has the 7.1 thing going on

Comfort
Ear Pads: This is where it gets confusing, I've read somewhere that the v1 has a leather one but the v2 has leatherette (not sure if its true). But I've seen reviews that said the v2 are MORE comfortable like this one: http://thepcenthusiast.com/kingston-hyperx-cloud-ii-gaming-headset-review/4/
Head Band: The v2 has a memory foam for added comfort

To those who own or tried a cloud 1 and 2, which one is more comfortable?

the dx is the better card, however since you will *only* be going with a hxc its really not needed at all. if you went with a dx i'd get something better than the hxc (something in the hifi headphone department) otherwise i'd just get the dg or dgx.

the dg has virtual surround, is better than onboard and is cheap.
another factor to consider:

you will NOT want to use the software or usb soundcard that comes with the v2 as it is well known to be junk and cause all sorts of audio quality issues.

when making your decision take the software and virtual 7.1 out of the equation. many prefer the v1 over the v2 because of this.

Would the hyperx cloud benefit from a dedicated sound card? Something like an asus xonar dgx? Since my motherboard is really old (Asus H61M-C) and I don't know if it could bring the best out of the hyperx.

take it this way - any speakers/headset will benefit from a dedicated sound card - as it is the thing that makes your sound 'alive'

so it all comes down to this>
do you plan/want to get one? get the mk1
are you on a laptop/can not get one/? get the mk2

ps> virtual surround is something like this> https://youtu.be/IUDTlvagjJA < and is managed solely by your sound card - as it takes the ingame 3d sound and by managing the volume and delay it lies to you brain that the same sound /which comes from your 2 drivers/ comes from all directions. the better sound card, the better the experience :D
the best for that are the gaming soundcards which often have nifty features like eax /environmental audio extensions/ which warps the sound according to the environment /caves sound more cavey, beach more beachy, etc.../

Thank You! One last thing though, what would be the best choice:
1. DGX
2. DSX (no virtualization)
3. DX (this is the most expensive among the 3 but does its performance justify its price? and is its quality and virtualization more noticeable than the dgx and dsx?)

well, from my experience, i usually recommend for gaming and quality audio> cheap asus xonar DG or DGX (for pci and pci-e); superior performer creative labs titanium hd; and then best gaming sound card creative labs sound blaster z (in case the titanium hd is a problem to get).
after that it is always better to get a dac (for audio quality) but you miss the gaming features :D

but then again, as i always admit, i am a big creative labs fanboy :D

I guess I might be too late but any usb headset such as the Kingston Hyperx Cloud 1/2 will not benefit from any sound card or integrated motherboard audio. It uses its own sound so it will just bypass the motherboard audio or the sound card. Only a 3.5 millimeter jack will benefit from a sound card.
