i broke the input connector in the sound bar for the optical wire, can i use the usb connection instead?

Not for a TV, 'coz TV USB ports are not for audio output.

If your Visio sound bar has standard type A USB input, it is for playing media off USB flash drives. If it is microUSB, it is for charging. In neither case it will play sound if you connect over this port **somehow** to your TV.

It depends what you broke. Bring it to an electronic shop (or a place where phones are repaired) for expert evaluation. Or at least provide detailed pictures of what is broken.

Everything can be fixed depending how much u wanto pay for it. If u have to ask, not user-serviceable.

As has been said above paying a tech to repair it won't usually be worth the price
Since the optical jack just holds the cable in place and isn't an electrical connector you might be able to glue it back in place. You will have to open up the soundbar to try it.
