I can chat but can't hear the game sounds on my headphones

I have a toshiba TV ,when I play my Xbox I can chat to my friends using my headphones but I can't hear the game sounds,if I connect to another tv everything is fine,basically the game sounds are coming through my tv speakers & not my headphones

did you try going in the xbox settings and messing with the audio settings there?
