Solved! I can't find all my bookmarks

So, i recently factory reset my HTC phone. Before this reset, i had signed into Chrome already and was syncing all my data (but i also did a backup on my computer). I recovered my phone and tried to check my bookmarks, a few old ones came back but majority of the newer ones didn't come back. I tried deleting all data from apps but still nothing changed. What can i do?

So you did the type of reset that tries to keep your personal data. Those never do seem to work as well as people want. Something is always missing. Alas, there is no way to get back anything that was removed from the phone and wasn't saved elsewhere. I doubt even data recovery would work in this case, since it was a partial reset. (a full one wipes everything). You can try the following, but it is a serious long shot.

In the future I would really suggest making backups on your own, and not relying on automated ones. They don't ever really back up everything and also not often enough, which leads to missing items later.


While there is no guaranty that you can get them back. Deleted does mean deleted. There are a few apps/programs out there that 'may' be able to help you recover the data.

A few of the programs you could try would be... DiskDigger, MobiSaver, Android-Recovery and Tenorshare. They are all data recovery apps/programs. There are many others out there, so check around and see which you would rather try. There is also one called RECUVA, that I have heard is free, which you could try.

One important note though, most of these programs are not free. They may say they are "free" or have "Free Trials" and "Free Downloads". Yet to actually recover your data, and get your files back, you may be have to purchase the program/app. Just so you know.

NOTE: For future reference, I really would suggest backing up your data to a computer or cloud. Often. Better to spend the time doing that, rather than to be out all that stuff if the phone dies, things get deleted/erased or it gets stolen.

I think i will just make new ones because all the software is not free and there's no assurance of actually getting everything back.
