i cant get my icons back on desktop windows 10

Did you try rebooting the laptop?

I suspect you have simply switched to 'task view'. There will be an icon on the left side of the task bar that does this. Simply hover your mouse over these icons until you find the one that says 'task view'. Clicking on this icon will toggle your display from showing icons on the desktop and not showing them.
