I can't set my emerson tv to antenna mode instead of cable. My emerson tv is pretty old and it isn't a flat screen tv.

Need more information like make and model number of the TV, but first guess would be that once the antenna is hooked up, you need to re-scan for channels. Of course, depending on it's age, the TV may not have a digital TV tuner in which case you would need a digital to analog adapter set top box (DTA).
