I compressed my laptop files or boot ,try to load windows 2k dont have key or disk recovery what can ido?

Del inspirion 6400 ,if ireplace hard drive do i have to load windows again

You can't do anything in your case without a disk. Yes you need to install Windows if you replace the hard drive, the drive you get would be blank.

You may be able to do a factory restore if the recovery partition was not touched, that will wipe the drive and set it up like it was new. Make sure you have backups of anything you need off the computer first.
