I Don’t Want Orbit Downloader Icon to Be Displayed in the Taskbar

When the Orbit Downloader’s main window is opened and is displayed on the computer screen, you are able to view its icon in the taskbar. Because the icon is displayed in the taskbar, you can know that the program is active and running. The icon of the Orbit Downloader program remains in the taskbar even when its main window is minimized.

The above scenario is under the ideal circumstances where everything is set to default, and no manual configurations have been made to the program.

If your personal preferences are that you do not want the Orbit Downloader icon to be displayed in the taskbar so that no one can know that the program is active, you are required to manually configure the application. When you modify the default configurations, you can allow the Orbit Downloader icon to hide in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the screen when its main window is minimized.

Note: The icon would still be shown in the taskbar when its main window is open.

As mentioned above, configuring your instance of Orbit Downloader this way is solely your choice. Your configurations may differ from the configurations of any other instance of Orbit Downloader that may be installed on any other computer. Also, modifying the configurations of the Orbit Downloader this way do not require any administrative rights, and the modifications can be made using the non-administrator user account as well.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader to hide its icon in the system tray rather than minimizing to the taskbar.

Here’s what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.
