What do the instructions that came with the remote say? It should have came with programming instructions and a list of codes for different TV manufactures. If you don't have them go to RCAs website and look them up based on the model of remote you have..

If the RCA remote doesn't have the IR codes pre programmed into it then you can't use it with the TV.
A Logitech Harmony remote is programmed online from their huge database of IR codes so they will have the codes for your TV.
