Solved! I dont receive any channels when I connect my new tv to my cable

Hello,
why dont I receive any channels when I connect my HD TV to my cable I have no box but my old tv worked without one

look in the setup menu of the new TV. You need to set it to receive NTSC, non digital standard, the old standard.
If it does not have the option, you need a cable box.
The problem being that the new TV is receiving the new standard, the cable company is providing the old standard. Your old TV received the old standard.
OR look in the setup menu again. Does it have a select switch for antenna input, cable input? You might be set to the wrong input.

Sometimes the newer tvs have the cable input set to cable in which you'd have to change it to air setting.
