I would totally agree with Blackink. You can try to restore the system to a previous restore point. There's a chance that the antivirus tool has interfered with your drivers in some way. This could help in your case.
In case the issue persists, you may need to go to the laptop's manufacturer website and look for the pad's drivers.
What do you mean by won't start up properly?
