I had Vista, need to format. Should I get Windows 7 instead?

I had Windows Vista on my HP 550 Notebook PC.

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5470 (1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
160 GB 5400 rpm SATA
Mobile Intel® GMA X3100, up to 384 MB shared system memory

Is it okay to switch to Windows 7, or should I continue using Vista?
I'm doing a complete format and wondering what to install.

Regards

Yes, if you have the option, go with windows 7. You'll want to visit the manufactures website, and see if they have Windows 7 drivers available for that specific model (though, probably 90% of the time Vista drivers will work with windows 7). Every vista machine I've ever put windows 7 on has been a better running machine.
