In general there are two ways to connect a TV, receiver and sources.
1. Connect all your sources to the TV.
Connect the audio out of the TV to the receiver.
Most TVs have optical audio output. If your receiver doesn't have optical then a converter would be needed.
2. Connect all your source to the receiver. Connect the video output of the receiver to the TV. A receiver with a component video audio connection will usually convert that to pass to the TV over the HDMI connection.
