I have a coaxial output on my Proscan TV and I have a coaxial input on my Onkyo receiver however I cannot get any sound

Model numbers would help.
If the TV has a single RCA jack for digital audio output and the receiver has an input then you would still have to assign the digital input on the receiver (such as digital 2) to an input (such as TV). There is usually an input set up menu on the receiver to do this.
