I have a element remote will it work with a sanyo dvd player?

My element tv and remote work fine am i able to use my element tv remote for a sanyo dvd player

If it has a IR code database built in and the Sanyo DVD player codes are in that database then yes.
The manual for the TV will have a list of preprogrammed codes and instructions on how to enter the code on the remote.
If none of those apply then you would need to get a remote that can control both such as a Logitech Harmony.
