i have a error on my pc F\ROOT\XPPC\1386

I am having trouble reinstalling windows xp after numerous attempts i have ended up reformatting as i couldnt just use the recovery and repair due to the common message missing or corrupt system 32 i get to the setup and then it says it cant continue due to various issue one of which is F\ROOT\XPPC\1386\asms\52\policy\msft\windows\networking\RTDLL.MAN on line0

What are you installed from and to? F:\ drive is a bit odd for a drive to do a setup from. Could be a bad setup disk, could be a bad hard drive. Could be bad RAM. Without details as to exactly what is going on and when this started tough to say where the issue is from. Any of the issues I said are about equal in chances of what is causing things.

F drive is from plug in as my other drives arent working this plug in works perfectly well on my other pc with vista on. It also asks for a 2nd disc which i havent got so ive emailed the supplier at least im further on than u was any suggestions as to what i might try next most welcome.
