I Have a non Powered Mixer do i need to amplify the out sorce of the Laptop

I Have a Dell 1501 Windows XP. The outlet is a 1/8" stereo jack, I run a split cable to the non-powered Tascam M-106 (6) Channel Mixer. There is not enough signal from the computer to do anything on the Mixer. Except for the 1/4" Mic Jacks which have a pre-amp. But it turns the stereo songs into Mono
What can i do to get my music back to stereo.

This makes little sense, since the audio output level of the computer is adjustable. Adjust it.
Your cable from the computer must be a STEREO split cable. It sounds like you are using the wrong type of cable.
