I need some help so I know what I still need to buy to get this system set up and working properly. I took a 1951 GE record player console and completely gutted the interior. I then bought the following items:

  1. Pro-Ject T1 BT Audiophile entry level turntable with phono pre-amp
  2. Klipsch R-51PM powered speakers
  3. Tangent CD II cd player

I want to be able to switch between the record player and the cd player. I have been told that I will need a "line level pre-amp" ? I am looking for something that I would plug the left/right chords from the record player into (input)...and the cd left/right chords into (input) ...and then chords from the output to the speakers. I hope that makes sense. Like I said in the title, I am really new at this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
You can connect the turntable to the speaker phono connection and switch the toggle switch to Line and then use the Aux input for the CD player.

Also it's Cords not Chords. A Chord is a group of music notes, a cord is a cable.
