I have an acer 5100 aspire laptop just switched iit on and it came up on a black screen as follows:

Windows Boot Manager

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the Problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.

2. Choose your language settings, and click "Next."

3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

File: Windowssystem32configsystem

Status: 0xc000014c

Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.

ENTER=Continue ESC=Exit

I have tried booting the dvd disk but it wont let me , i even went thru the Bios to enable everything and still not working
pls can you help
thanks

You may need to set the DVD-Rom as the first boot device in BIOS. If you already did that, let us know what error you get when you try to boot from a CD or DVD.
