I have an HP Pavilion, fan is buttom left side. How can I keep it cool?

I have tried Colling pads but nothing seems to cool down my HP Pavilion g series laptop. Do you have any advise on what I can do?

how old is it as could use a can of air carefully to cleanout any dust & dust bunnies out of the fan & heatsink grille?
