I have an old Philips dvd player picture is fine I can't get no sound using hfmi cable please let me know

No sound, picture is fine it's an old Philips with an HDMI and I'm attaching it to the element Television TV I can't get the sound to work please help

I had a reverse issue with a DVD player and a TV, I got sound but no picture. Was an issue between the specific devices.

Test the cable and the DVD player with another TV, try another cable and another device with yours to see where the issue is coming from.

Also if you have an external speaker, try disconnecting that and just use the TV one.
