Question I need help hooking up my blu ray player to the soundbar?

I have a bose sound bar I just bought and it works just great when I’m using the roku or regular tv but when I try watching a blue ray ( I have a Sony blu ray player) no sound comes out. I tried connecting the blu ray directly to the soundbar using a coaxial to aux chord and I’m getting static but no sound. Any advice on how to make it work?

Need to know the exact model of the sound bar and exact model of the blu-ray player so we know what connections they all have for you to use. Is everything connected to the TV and the TV is connected to the soundbar with an optical cable?
