My laptop has a 1 inch white and blue vertical line on the right side and I can see part of whats on the left side on the right after the vertical lines. I shut the screen and the blue line left but the rest remains

Right click on Desktop. Select Display Settings. Then select Advanced display settings. Make sure the resolution is set to match your actual display.
