I need help

I just bought a celcus 32" smart tv for my girlfriend and we bought a tv Ariel for her to go with it but every time we search for channels it keeps saying no channels found even though the Ariel is plugged in at the back. Is there any solutions

1. Be sure menu is set for ANTENNA, not cable.
2. Turn antenna, 1/8 of a turn at a time, re-scan.
3. If she lives in an high-density apartment or very far from broadcast tower, may have to move antenna to a window.
