Clevo used to supply Alienware with bare bones systems, now Dell supplies them and Dell OEM's them to someone else as they make no laptops.....

Quanta sells to (among others) HP/Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, Sony, Fujitsu, Acer, NEC, Gateway and Lenovo/IBM - note that
Compal sells to Toshiba, HP/Compaq, Acer, and Dell.
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to HP/Compaq, Dell, IBM, NEC, Acer, and Lenovo/IBM.
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP/Compaq, NEC, and Dell.
ECS sells to IBM, Fujitsu, and Dell.

This and has resulted in a substantial drop in quality. I'd use another Clevo distributor as ya'd prolly get a decent sized screen (150HN model) w/ same specs at close to the same price.

http://www.pro-star.com/index.cfm?mainpage=serial-price&serial=P150HM&promoteid=90000364&screenid=13116908&cpuid=30139602&hdid=40100257&cdromid=20074689&ramid=80117622&batteryid=10140100

1366 x 768 is perty weak.

^ he is saying he believes Alienware quality isnt what it used to be due to using a different supplier for their parts. I honestly dont think the quality would be any different as Alienware quality was only slightly above average even before Dell bought them out. I know because i used to be involved in building Alienware notebooks for the Australasia region before Dell bought them. They have problems just like every other manufacturer, none are perfect. The only notebook manufacturer that has below average quality would be Acer, and the only one with exceptional quality would be Lenovo.
