I need to us my laptop as streaming PC

There has to be a way to do this. I have a 2010 Clevo D900F from Cyberpower PC armed with the following:

Core i7 980X (12 thread)
GTX 480M
6GB Triple Channel RAM

I'm currently gaming on a desktop armed with the following:

Core i7 4770 (No not the K)
MSI GTX 970
8GB Dominator Plat DDR3 (1600MHz)
MSI Z97 Gaming 5

The laptop is just sitting and I want to stream counter strike, my PC can handle streaming and playing but I can tell a slight performance difference. How can I make them work together?
Someone one time told me its possible with a router?

Help! I'm a car guy and this isnt a V8 rebuild

You need a capture card for the laptop, then route the image from the desktop to the laptop and share the video off that online.

Do a web search for "use second computer for streaming" and you'll find more info.
