I Want to Add Additional Codecs in Virtual DJ

By default Virtual DJ has almost every codec already installed in it. With the help of these codecs, the program easily codes and decodes the audio files, their samples, and all other program and media specific information without any hitch or glitch.

The built-in decoders that Virtual DJ has are smart and versatile enough to support almost all the available audio formats and their extensions without giving any trouble to the end users. The entire process that these decoders perform always remains transparent to the users of the program.

The above scenario is described keeping in mind an ideal situation. Situations may differ when you want to add a music file to the Virtual DJ program, and the format of the file is not supported. When this is the case, it becomes essential that you manually add the required codec in order to allow the program to start supporting the format and extension of the file that you want to add.

Adding a new codec into the Virtual DJ program is a one-time process. This means that once you add a codec to the application, it keeps supporting that particular file format until you manually remove the codec, or uninstall and reinstall the program. The codec might also get removed from the program if you factory restore the settings.

By following the instructions given below, you will be able to add an additional codec to the Virtual DJ program.

Here’s what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Virtual DJ is installed.

■Initialize the Virtual DJ application by double-clicking its icon. (In most cases shortcut icon of Virtual DJ is automatically placed on the desktop.).

■From the opened interface, click the CONFIG button present at the top of the Virtual DJ window.
