I want to connect bluetooth speakers to non-Bluetooth tv, but tv does not have an "audio out" jack which is needed for the adapters/transmitters that we've tried so far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If there's no audio out option then there's very little you can do.

I’m in same situation. My TV has only one audio output...the Toslink digital audio port. I purchased a digital to analog converter. Connected power to it and ran appropriate cable from TV audio output to converter input. Then connected a Bluetooth transmitter to the converter output. Paired headphones successfully but only hear “noise” through headphones. Trying to figure why this doesn’t work.
