I would like help with deciding on a chromebook, please?

1. What is your budget?

About 300 max limit.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

11 inches for the Acer chromebook r11 and 14 inches for the Acer chromebook 14, but any other suggestions are welcome!

3. What screen resolution do you want?

Any as long as it's a decent size.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portability is a must!

5. How much battery life do you need? At least 8 hours would be nice!

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Games isn't high priority, I have a separate laptop for that. Chromebook is for general usage.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

word processing, handle multiple tabs at once without losing much speed, youtube, and stuff.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

Any is fine!

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

As long as possible.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

At least 2 usb ports for a mouse and usb drive if needed.

I'm pretty open to brands.

So I just need a chromebook for my writing hobby and general use. I have a laptop already, but it gets heavy and not ideal for me to bring to work all the time. I really want something light and can handle multiple tabs on the internet without slowdown issues. It would also be nice if the trackpad isn't so sensitive that my palm would affect it when typing (a problem with my asus laptop).

My current laptop is 14 inch asus that's fit for games and stuff, but I should be able to handle 11 inches, I think... I've been trying to search up on good budget chromebooks, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what is considered the best bang for the buck. I apologize if this is in the wrong section, I just couldn't find any section for chromebooks. Any help is appreciated!

Really anything in your price range will be as good as anything else. To get to something that is good quality you need to go to about $500 range to the premium stuff with tablet mode.

All have some trade-offs. I used the Pixelbook at work for a bit for testing, and the hardware and screen is as good as any $2,000 MAC, however it is well out of your price point. I would look for a used $500 model rather than a new $300 or less one.

I have been looking at the Samsung Chromebook Pro for my daughter, good mix of specs and function but about half the price of the Pixel. Used models are right about in your price range.
