i3 3rd gen vs 4th gen gaming

i3 4010u with nvidia 820m or i3 3110m with nvidia 710m....which is good for gaming and I need a good battery back up too so if the gaming performance of 3110 combo is to be very much greater than 4010 combo then I am likely to choose 3110 with comprises over battery small..............

Those two fit my budget I need best among them I am eve satisfied with low graphics but modern games must be playable @ 30fps if 3110 tends to perform very much greater than 4010 then I will Have compromise on battery life if the differences are little lower I will go with battery life

Yes, I agree. But the main is the GPU which gives higher performance with lower power usage. However, I aren't sure will the 4010U bottlenecks the 820M. Do you have the chance to test both computer's in terms of battery life and performance?

i3-4010U? I used that for gaming for a few months while saving money for my PC, and it was complete and utter garbage. The damn thing struggled to run even Fallout:New Vegas at the lowest possible settings, of course that was with integrated graphics, but you could still tell that the CPU was causing severe lag in certain parts, like when particle effects started, or wind was blowing dirt up, it would lag pretty hard. I'm almost thinking the 3rd gen i3 will be better due to it's higher clock speed, while clock speed isn't everything, 1.7GHz is pretty damn pathetic in this day and age.

Of course, now you get to choose between being bottlenecked by the 4010u, or by the 710m, both are quite bad. Are there any other laptops you're interested in within your budget range? If so, post em' here for us to look over.

Yes, the 4010U will bottleneck even a lowly 820m. That CPU is completely worthless, at least for gaming, IMHO.

I recommend staying as far away as possible from the 4010U, don't even touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Processors than end at U are low voltage, they are good for the battery life but not for perfomance. Stay away from them when gaming is considered

some stuffs might be out of topic but (say AMD)but i need a good gaming laptop i am ready to sacrifice the battery life..... but as far my researches i found that amd processors are good only in benchmarks not in real life performance

I could only say if you want to go over HP pay attention to the thermal system. They often came with a laptop suffers from poor cooling. Toshiba has also bad reviews for their HDD.
