i3-7100U + 920MX or i3-6006U + 940MX?

The question is in the title, which one is better?

940MX is better if you want to game, but GTX 1050 would be loads better if you can afford it. 10 series is first time Nvidia didn't cut down the mobile version of GPUs.

I am well aware that those cards would be better, but their price is also twice of these systems I'm looking at.

So then you say that even though the i3 6006U has 0.4GHz less, the 940MX makes it better than the other?

Yes the CPU is the same in core/thread count, but the GPU has different number of cores.

Different number of cores is a greater difference than only a difference in speed.
