Solved! If I make a factory default disk, can I do a clean install?

I have a gateway laptop and right now I'm in the process of making a default factory disk. If I deleted or overwrote everything on my hard drive, could I use the factory disk to do a clean install of my OS and drivers?

Yes, so long as you have correctly burnt the image and you have yet to install or change anything on the laptop.
