if you plug a 9 volt 1 amp adapter into a 15 volt 100Ma device

i have a pair of jbl wireless speakers, but i am missing the power adapter for the transmitter. i have a mismatched adapter and the plug fits, but the output is 9 v 1 amp and should be 15 volts 100Ma. what would happen if i used it?

It may work and shouldn't do any damage however the power output of the speakers will be drastically reduced by as much as two thirds,and as per tea urchin that is assuming that they match D/C or A/C.
