There are two unrelated questions there. Lets answer them:

"can u receive digital tv with a indoor aerial"

This is easy ... the answer is YES, quite unequivocally, even
a station 68 miles away . I can. You asked not if YOU could,
but if **I** could. I can.

Then there is "or do i really need a outdoor" Presumably antenna.

We can't tell without knowing exactly where you live and
the nature of your house. Its impossible to know without that
info. IF you will tell us we can help you.

You don't even tell us what country you live in ... it makes
a big difference, people in the US are far more likely to be
able to receive digital on an indoors antenna than in the UK
because our system is set up much better. If you live antipodally,
it's in between, but more like the US.

So it depends on whether you are facing towards the stations,
or away.

There are web sites in the UK that are supposed to tell
you exactly what your situation is. I have no idea where to
find them, however. Try, however, the BBC web site.
