Microsoft gives out a free tool called Iso to USB maker. It on there web page. All you need is a 4g USB stick and windows ISO image.

Probably same as you would on a desktop - go into the BIOS, set your USB flash drive as primary boot device, then set your hard drive to the secondary and that's it.
