Internet Download Manager Starts Downloading Before Clicking Download Button

The Internet Download Manager is a simple tool developed for the ease of managing and scheduling the download tasks. It works as per its name, enabling you to take over the download option from the traditional way of the web browsers. The major drawback of these browser inbuilt downloaders is that if the download process is paused intentionally or by any other factor; the process is unable to resume the task rather it restarts from beginning. This drawback is overcame by the Internet Download Manager which empowers you to pause a download task at any stage and then resume it right where it was left at any time as per your convenience.

The IDM enables you to customize the list of web browsers with which it is integrated and captures the URLs from them. It can then automatically start downloading the associated files from the captured URLs.

The downloaded files can be configured to be saved in their respective directories as per their category. These files are automatically categorized by the program and can also be user-defined. You may tailor the extension types to be downloaded by the program automatically and also define the extensions to be omitted by it.

The IDM displays an alert box before starting any download task, and after the download is complete.

Before you accept to start the download process, the program automatically starts downloading the associated files and stores it to a temporary folder that is located in the system drive which, in most cases, is C:. When this happens, the Internet bandwidth starts getting consumed without your consent. Although this default configuration does not give any negative impact on your system performance, you can still preserve some of your Internet bandwidth by disabling the corresponding option.
