[citation][nom]ap3x[/nom]So you are basically saying, you have 1 benchmark that says that Tegra 3 is 12x faster than the iPad but you are calling all other reviews that show the iPad 2 as being slightly faster than Tegra as biased? Could you waive a flag any harder with that BS?[/citation]

Apparently you don't understand sarcasm.

[citation][nom]adamboy64[/nom]I find a 7" tablet fits in my pocket fine. Don't know about a 7.85" tablet - that'd be pushing it.If Apple put phone/text capabilities in this iPad Mini tablet, it would be an absolute killer. Thankfully, Samsung are the only ones smart enough to do that.[/citation]

If Samsung stopped encasing their phones and tablets in plastic and started using metal...that'd be an actual killer...but thankfully, they haven't been smart enough to do that.

Dear Halcyon,
Take your current phone, wrap it in aluminium, and ask your friends to dial the phone's number. Does it ring? No? I hope you don't think wrapping a phone in metal is a good idea anymore. To be fair though, my Nokia E51 had a nice big shiny stainless steel backplate with the antenna mounted in a plastic block at the top of the phone, uncovered by the stainless steel plate. I still think it's one of the best phones Nokia has ever produced in terms of style and function, although the web browsing is admittedly miserable due to the fact it uses the old Symbian OS.

[citation][nom]shqtth[/nom]nothing to fear. apple can't compete on price. they need to make way too much markup for their poor dear share holders. SO buy an apple product now and make the shareholders more money today ! they need food you know, without all your money they will all starve.[/citation]

And this is clearly evidenced by the large number of superior lower cost tablets that a rapidly taking market share..... Oh wait thats only happening in the pipe dream fantasy that you apparently live in.

@DJanarak

LOL, I deserved that. I have to remember to be precise when I write or I run the risk of being clowned or looking as if I don't know English is the accepted language of the internet (bad grammar/spelling).

Before the iPad was released you could not touch a tablet computer for less than $1500. Congratulations, Apple, on slashing the cost of an entire segment of computing in half.

You are so correct. I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed more. I have a fairly slick old Fujitsu Stylus slate tablet from 2007 in my office that we (US Gov't) paid ~$2500 for. It was a really nice device at the time, but even though it can run Windows 7 (and run it well I might add) it just doesn't really compare to the iPad for media creation/consumption. ...its heavy (compared to any contemporary tablets)...battery life is a joke (compared to any contemporary tablet and while Windows 7's touch interface is not bad its no competition to Android and iOS.

I can't wait until my new iPad arrives ~3/23. Gosh I love toys.

Of course, they should be scared. Android doesn't even come close to the refinement of iPad to be frankly honest. UI is clunky, slow and hard to use. The only thing Android has going for it is the multitask ability...but that is also beat out by the QNX-powered PlayBook.

Android also got those widgets...and those widgets can really make the device yours. I love my Razr Maxx for those. ...but no, Android doesn't have the refinement of iOS...but I'll have my iPads to enjoy that.

"Not everyone wants to cough up $500+ for a tablet. Apple and cheap are two vastly different things."

I agreed with the first part, but the second is a blatant Apple generalization because I looked up the transformer prime and it's also $499. SAME price as the iPad. So Why just call out the IPad? Say they are all expensive.

Well. ....with the Transformer Prime @ $500 you get a lot of raw hardware. ...quick and thin. ...with the iPad @ $500 you get a very polished experience. The hardware melts away and becomes whatever you're doing with it, so to speak. Its not simple to articulate but the iPad is so many completely different devices. The Transformer Prime is one device that can be made to do different things. The Android experience just isn't seamless. ...not that it has to be, some of us geeks don't even want seemless. They want it to function because they made it function. That's more of what you get with Android...and having had a 5 Transformer Primes, a Razr Maxx (which I do appreciate) and an iPad noone can say I'm a fanman. I'm into whatever is neat, but I appreciate the ease of use and seamless experience Apple offers as well as the get down in the mudd and dirt that Android depends upon to shine.

[citation][nom]DjEaZy[/nom]... iPad Mini May Hurt Android Tablet Vendors? It would kill it...!!! It would hut iPod Touch...[/citation]
[citation][nom]DjEaZy[/nom]... imagine iPad mini for the lately by apple announced education initiative? ... a maybe 8' tablet with the resolution of the original iPad, to easyer to develop too... put a dualcore in it from iPhone 4s... price it about 199$ for 16Gb and 299$ 32Gb... and apple haz a winner...[/citation]
