i am 100% new to ipads LOL ... any thoughts on if it would be better to get a secondhand ipad pro 2017 or the new ipad 10.2 (8th gen) 2020 - for the same price.

Go with the iPad 10.2. It's a solid iPad and you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. It's certainly better that a second-hand iPad.

hi, thanks - so the 2017 refurb ipad ipro is never going to be as good as a new non-pro even if it has 256gb mem (double) and a headphone jack.
