hi,
my IPAQ 3870 mistakenly switches on when any key is
touched when I have it in my backpock. Does anobydy know
of some kind of software that I can use to temporarily
switch off the email, calendar, contact switches?

Also, when I listen to MP3s with it and have it in my
pocket, I would like to switch off these keys temporarily
and deactivate the screen with some kind of screensaver.
Any ideas out there?

thanks

Ciao,
Claus

Which iPaq? Most have an option in either the button control panel or the
power control panel to disable buttons when suspended. Media Player has
button mapping options as well, and can affect a screen off tied to a
button.

my ppc (Asus) has an option to switch the machine on at one of the
keypresses by default. Look for and disable these options. It's in system,
options, Asus settings, Wakeup tab on my ppc

You can disable the backlight if that's what you mean? Press and hold the
power button for a few seconds.

I use GS Player (freeware) as my prefered audio player (Ogg Vorbis as my
prefered codec), it has the ability to turn the screen off with a variety
of settings
