They've been doing it for years. However, they did invent gunpowder

For some reason, for $105, this seems far more useful than the iPad, esp. considering this is running Android.

So they can't be sued for having such a similar looking product with an obviously similar name? or is it because they're safe behind the great firewall of china?

we taught them well how to mass produce and do it quite cheaply... so go figure... is anyone really surprised by this though? im only surprised how fast it made it lol

Sure Apple can sue... winning is another matter. Considering how many clones come out of China of other products that can't be stopped (womens designer handbags being a prime example) how much success do you think Apple would have? Personally, I think it would be a waste of money trying.

As for innovation... the ipad isn't innovative... it's a big itouch. Apple is known as a company that takes every day technology, wraps it in pretty consumer friendly packaging then markets the hell out of it.

Can't innovate? And the iPad isn't just a fancier version of tablet PC's and such that have been around for a while now? Nobody innovates anymore, they just take ideas and make small changes. For some reason people think apple innovates, they haven't innovated, they just play to morons who follow like lemmings.

Funny, I thought the Chinese didn't need Google and pretty much told them they could care less if they stayed in China but they sure are happy to use the Android OS. Hypocrites!

While I don't copying a product as closely as possible is the greatest idea, Being from a country that tends to get things last, If a company chooses to halt the delivery of a product in a country after the release in another then every other company should have free rein to copy it until such point as it is actually available on the market. If they cant make enough of them to release then they shouldn't be releasing it yet. Same thing with under-stocking.

Dont confuse government with population!!

As for the iPed! simply awesome, costs 1/5th and performs 90% of the iPad!

Ekk...It looks like it lags a lot and the touch screen isn't very responsive.

Don't worry, The All Mighty Steve Jobs will stop the Chinese

Its all business, there is no need to innovate if it makes money. We the west taught them the core basics of capitalism and they are out playing our game.

The minute you start production in China, you can kiss your technology and Intellectual Properties goodbye. They learn and copy fast, and will come back at you in a very short time.
