Is there a good Android based iPod Touch replacement that is not tied to a cell company?

The iPod Touch is not tied to cell company as it is not a cell phone.

Assuming you mean the iPhone: alternatives include Nexus One, HTC Hero,and many more. Tie to cell companies depends on your country. Wont be cheap untied.

Nope. I meant not tied to a cell company. Something that runs applications and only uses WiFi

So you want an mp3 player that is touch screen, app-based, and not apple. .... its the apps that is hard.... so android is your other option as far as I know... and most android devices are either netbook/tablets format or phone...
