I have been using a lenovo laptop g40-45 for roughly 3 years. It has an AMD A8 APU and AMD radeon R5 GPU. But the thing is, everytime i turned on the laptop, it always reached out 60°C when idle. Even reached 70°C when i'm using it to code (chrome, atom, cmd). I haven't cleaned the vent and the fan yet but i'm planning to do some cleaning and change the thermal paste. Is it normal for an AMD laptop to heat up like this? I'm afraid if this temperature keeps go on it would damage the components as i won't be able to afford another laptop for some moment.

AMD runs a lot hotter then Intel. As long as it isn't reaching the maximum temperature then it'll be fine. If you are worried about it, get a USB base fan that goes underneath the laptop to increase air flow.
