Is 86 degrees celcius too hot for GPU???

I have a laptop with gtx 980M and everytime I play game, I notice that its temperature is around 86 degrees celcius. When I played Assassin's Creed Unity at Ultra-High setting, it was so hot that it shut down itself and I decided to delele that game. Is 86 degrees celcius too hot??? And is there any solutions to cool off my laptop??

86C shouldn't cause that GPU to throttle, laptop GPUs are known to reach 90C which is normal.

What is your laptop model?

It won't damage your chip or thermal throttle, the reality is these chips are built for higher temps in a mobile gaming environment.

Look in the bios for temp controls. If there is nothing for it, then you'll have to buy a laptop cooling pad.

can you tell me which laptop cooling pad is suitable with my laptop??? I see the Cooler Master SF-17 cooling pad just help decrease 2-3 degrees celcius and it costs ~60$
