Is a 9 cell battery better for older dell used for basic email and browsing

just want to know if I should buy a 6 or 9 cell replacement battery

The 9 cell will give you approximately 50% more usage before you have to plug the laptop in over the 6 cell. How much time a 6 cell will give you heavily depends upon the Make/Model of the laptop. If you need the mobility, then the 9 cell maybe necessary. The tradeoff is weight, the 9 cell is also a bit heavier.
