Is it possible to connect multiple USB ports together to one port for much faster speeds?

For example, say you have a computer that has 3 usb 1 ports on the front. You want to copy a lot of stuff onto a USB 3 HDD. And USB 1 is just too damn slow. Could it in someway be possible to use a reverse HUB kind of idea adapter to change the 3 usbs ports into a single USB 3 port and into the HDD?

Stupid question, but I'm actually curious.

Ah ok. That makes a bit more sense. Anyway, if your computers have a free PCI-E lane you could get a USB2 or 3 adapter. Apart from that I don't think there is much you can do.

Yeah, but you wouldn't be able to boot from it. But usually thats what we do to backup the computers we work on.
