Back story, just got a new laptop, wondered if i can upgrade this one because I want to try to do something that involves building so soon I can build my own laptop.

Nearly all newish laptops now have soldered in CPUs and GPUs. You can only change the ram and the hard drive.

this laptop came out in 2012 and im not sure what you mean by soldered in cpus and gpus

They are soldered to the motherboard. Open up the case covers and check.

Yea you can upgrade it, the cpu uses a fs1r2 socket. The best apus for the socket are the AMD A10 4600m and th AMD A10-5750m. Also, upgrading will also change your gpu, since this is also integrated into the processor.
